The TM488 is a quad stereo peak program meter with 40 LED's and 55 dB display range from + 15 dB to - 40 dB. The integrator of 4 meters in one module offers the same performance as the single meter TM481 at a lower price.

The quad stereo LED PPM can be used with the stereo input module TM403. Using this meter with the inline input module TM402 of the ToolMod Console is also possible. Setting the meter sends of the inline module correspondingly it is possible to display DAW send and DAW return at a time. A mono version of this meter is also available. It offers the choice to add a high-resolution peak display to the input channels. Due to the 4 stereo channels in one module, a couple of stages in the meter are required only once, which reduces the cost in relation to 4 single meters considerably.

The high impedance audio inputs of the meter are electronically balanced. The input level is adapted to the meter sends of the ToolMod Console. An internal trim pot allows to change the default level setting of 0 dB = 6 dBu ~ + 4 dBV in a range of +/- 10 dB. The display range up to + 15 dB covers the common input and output levels of a/d and d/a converters.

The display resolution is 1 dB from + 15 dB to - 10 dB, 2 dB between - 10 dB and - 30 dB, and 2.5 dB down to the lowest level of - 40 dB. The attack time is less than 0.5 ms @ 1 kHz and the internally adjustable release time is 1.5 sec/20 dB. The release law is linearized to achieve constant speed at low levels.

The audio inputs are available on eight 9-pin D-Sub connectors on the module's pcb. The pinout of these connectors match to the pinout of the meter send connectors of the ToolMod Console frames. The power supply is daisy chained from meter module to meter module. The meter frames allow installation of mono and stereo meters as well as quad meter blocks and quad VU meter blocks in any combination.

The TM488 stereo LED PPM is best suited for stereo input modules, however, the combination with mono and inline modules is also meaningful, since DAW send and return can be displayed at a time. The TM484, quad hi-res mono LED PPM combines 4 mono meters in one module. In addition, there are the stereo hi-res LED PPM TM482 and the mono LED PPM TM481. The quad VU Meter TM485 is an alternative to the peak program meters.

The meter can be used with the mono and stereo input and inline modules of the ToolMod Console. Of course, the entire range of meters can be used for any other purpose that requires analog meters as well.
