ToolMod analog Mixing Console
Connector Panels for Input Modules

The Standard Connector Panel is included in the price of the input modules of the ToolMod Mixing Console. The 8 audio inputs and outputs of each channel are available on a 25-pin D-sub connector. The TRS/XLR connector can be used alternatively. This panel uses common connectors and be be used with mono, inline and stereo input modules. All connector panel include the 9-pin D-sub connector for external meters.

The standard input connector panel adds no additional cost the console frame. The pinout of the 25-pin D-sub has the common 'Tascam' setting. The panel is identical for mono, inline and stereo input modules. Though the cost for this panel is low, it requires that you provide extensive external wiring.

The XLR/TRS connector panel breaks out the inputs and outputs to six TRS connectors and two XLR connectors. DAW send and return, and send and return for the two insert points, A and B are available on TRS jacks. The inputs for the external mic-pre and the additional line input are available on XLR connectors. The TRS and XLR connectors are gold plated version, brand Neutrik. The connector panel also includes a 9-pin D-sub with the outputs for external meters.

The two versions of the XLR/TRS panel are electrically identical and can be used with all input modules. Only the lettering is different. The lettering of version 1 fits together with the mono and inline modules TM401 and TM402; version 2 is compatible with the stereo input modules TM403.

Though it is possible to use these panels for all modules in a frame, the Backplanes offer many advantages for the installation of the console. In most cases using backplanes for all blocks of 8 or 4 channels is going to be less expensive than the extensive external wiring. Therefore the connector panels for single slots are mostly used for some remaining module compartments only.
