The I83 is a top class 5-Band-EQ with excellent tonal qualities and big range. The circuit design is based on the active Vienna Robinson's bridge principle. This module displays an exceptionally high level of audio quality and precision. With its three fully parametric bands and the wide control range of ± 20 dB the I83 5 Band Equalizer operates over the frequency range of 20 Hz to 25kHz and allows both aggressive tonal surgery and gentle tone shading.
Three of the five bands are fully parametric with independently adjustable frequency and bandwidth control. All of the three fully parametric bands have an overlapping frequency range. The frequency ranges for these separate bands are as follows: MID 1 20Hz to 2kHz, MID 2 50Hz to 7kHz and for MID 3 25 0Hz to 25kHz. The adjustable bandwidth has a factor from 3 octaves to a third.
- The HI band is a shelving filter; it can be switched to 3 different characteristics. In the position 20kHz it works as a low slope shelf. In the 12kHz and 8kHzpositions the characteristic changes to a very soft bell curve.
- The LOW band is a soft bell filter (Q=1) that can be switches to the center frequencies 40 Hz, 60 Hz and 100 Hz.
- The hard bypass connects input and output until the EQ switch is pressed..
The I83 5-Band-EQ fits into any Integrator 4U frame..
