The Stereo Mastering Compressor has been optimized to achieve massive loudness gain without negative side effects. Using well adapted settings of all parameters can result in 10 or even 15 dB loudness gain with almost every kind of audio signal. Huge control ranges for all parameters and important special functions like Envelope, Fill and LT-Int allow entirely different behavior of the compressor and best possible adaptation to the mix.
The stereo mastering version of the well-known adt-audio 5-band equalizer with optimized control ranges for mastering applications. Soft high and low eq's for global corrections are combined with three fully parametric mid bands that cover the entire audio band. The wide range of the q-factor control allows subtle corrections as well as drastic tonal surgery. Usually, the TM205 has +/-12 dB boost/cut range; however, 20 dB versions are also available.
This stereo brickwall-limiter is extremely fast and can block peaks of 3 to 5 dB without audible side effects. There are controls for threshold, attack, and release and an additional output gain control.
A M/S matrix combined with stereo base and direction control and elliptic equalizer for effective treatment of the spacial image. The elliptic EQ maintains mono compatibility in the low frequency range. The unit can also be used as M/S to L/R or L/R to M/S converter.
The ToolMod stereo mastering modules use many of the special circuitries that have been developed and optimized for the V700 mastering gear. They offer important features of this module system that has been designed especially for mastering studios.
Due to the construction principle of the ToolMod system without extensive and expensive mechanics, fancy knobs, massive, machined faceplates and stainless steal housings along with high production quantities result in the plain appearance of a normal console but make possible to offer a complete stereo mastering setup with compressor, equalizer and limiter at a price that is lower than a single module of the V700 series.
