The ADT W788/W789 is our classic, 5-band, equalizer with 3 fully parametric mid-bands that displays exceptional tonal qualities. Our principle of NO COMPROMISE in audio and build quality is reflected throughout this module.
The circuit design of the unit is based on the phase coherent, active Vienna Robinson's bridge principle. Each of the 5 bands offers 24dB of boost and cut, extraordinary resolution and benchmark transparency. The input and output are balanced and floating and the entire audio chain benefits from totally symmetric circuitry, which results in the massive headroom of +30dBu.
With its enormous range, transparency and phase coherency, extreme interventions of tonal surgery are possible. Even with extreme boosting or cutting of frequencies, this unit remains clean and crystal clear.
With its three fully parametric mid-bands the W788/W789 operate over the frequency range of 20Hz to 25kHz. Three of the five EQ bands are fully parametric with independently adjustable bandwidth. The frequency ranges are as follows: MID 1 - 20Hz to 2kHz, MID 2 - 50Hz to 7kHz and MID 3 250Hz to 25kHz.
HI-and LOW bands have switched center frequencies. The HI-EQ can be switched to 3 different characteristics. In the position 20 kHz it operates as a shelf filter for frequencies above 20 kHz. In the positions 12 kHz and 8 kHz the characteristic of the HI-EQ changes to a soft bell curve centered on 12 or 8 kHz. The LOW-EQ always works as a bell curve and its center frequency can be switched between 100Hz, 60Hz and 40Hz.
W788 is the mono version, and the W789 the stereo version of the device. These are standard V700 modules for installation into a standard frame.
