Shipping Methods

Here is a description of the possible shipping methods in brief:

Standard
We calculate the cheapest method based on the weight and your location with no respect to the runtime. This is:

for Germany • UPS ground, DHL on request of the customer
Inside European Union • UPS ground or parcel post/DHL
Outside European Union:
  • UPS ground where available, or
  • International Parcel Post/DHL
UPS Ground
available: inside European Union + some other European countries
minimum weight: no limits
maximum weight: 70 kg/154 lbs per parcel
transit time: Germany 1 to 2 days, other countries 2 to 3 days
Internet tracking: possible on the UPS website
Please note:
COD (cash on delivery) is only possible with UPS ground.
UPS Express
available: almost all countries on the planet
minimum weight: no limits
maximum weight: 70 kg/154 lbs per parcel
transit time:
  • Germany · 1 day
  • Europan countries, USA, Canada · 1 to 2 days
  • other countries · up to 3 days

Please note:
In relation to the price of international parcel post and airfreight, the price is very high. However, it is the best way if you are in urgent need and time is the most important issue.
Parcel Post/DHL
available: all countries on the planet
minium weight: no limits
maximum weight:
  • 20 kg/44 lbs per parcel for all countries
  • 31.5 kg/70 lbs per parcel for Europe, USA, Canada
transit time:
  • Germany · 2 to 4 days
  • Euopean countries · 6 to 10 days
  • USA, Canada · 8 to 12 days
  • other countries · up to 15 days

Please note:
This option is the same as 'standard' for all countries outside EU. Depending on the weight and your location inside EU it can be a little cheaper than UPS ground; however the runtime is usually longer.
Airmail Parcel/DHL
available: only outside European Union
minium weight: 40 kg/88 lbs
maximum weight: no limits
transit time:
  • Euopean countries · 3 to 6 days
  • USA, Canada · 4 to 8 days
  • other countries · up to 10 days

Please note:
DHL Air Parcel service is available for all countries on the planet, but like international parcel post, the weight per parcel is limited to 20 kg/44 lbs. Depending on your location it is faster than international parcel post that can take up to 15 days but the cost is higher. Average runtime is 6 to 9 work days, weekends excluded. This option makes only sense if you are not resident in the EU and the weight of the shipment is below 40 kg/88 lbs. Depending on the destination country, although with a weight in the range of 40 kg/88lbs, airfreight might be less expensive. If more than two parcels are needed for the entire shipment, airfreight is the better option anyway. Shipment cannot be ttracked on the internet.

Parcels can be tracked on the internet; however, DHL hands the parcel over to a local parcel service for delivery in most countries. In this case, the parcel disappears from the DHL site and appears under another tracking code on the website of the local parcel service (USPS in the USA).
Airfreight
available: only outside European Union
minium weight: 40 kg/46 lbs
maximum weight: no limits
transit time:
  • USA, Canada · within a week
  • other countries · up to 12 days
Internet tracking: usually available
Please note:
This option makes only sense if the weight is a lot higher than 40 kg and you are resident far away from Germany. For USA, Canada, South America, Africa, Australia and Asia airfreight is the appropriate shipping method if the total weight a lot higher than 40 kg or if a single device, like a big power supply, exceeds 40 kg.
Customer
You take care about the shipping or you pick up the gear here. We'll pack everything up and prepare customs papers for export, if necessary.
Forwarder
available: inside or outside European Union, but on the continent
minium weight: 40 kg/88 lbs
maximum weight: no limits
Please note:
If you are resident in Europe and the total weight of your purchase exceeds 70 kg, transport by a forwarding agency is the best and cheapest method. Outside Europe, airfreight is the appropriate method for higher weights.
